Weltethos Pitch Day

Following on from Hans Küng’s ideas, we at the Global Ethic Institute at the University of Tübingen, together with partners from business, science and society, are offering a prize for start-ups that take on social and ecological responsibility with economically viable ideas.

The prize is awarded as part of the Global Ethic Pitch Day and is aimed at young entrepreneurs who have developed a business plan, are already active on the market and have found a fixed company form (which is confirmed, for example, by an entry in the commercial register).

Award ceremony and jury
The Global Ethic Pitch Day will take place on October 23, 2024 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Global Ethic Institute in Tübingen. We will invite up to six finalists to present their projects and project ideas. In this context, we will award a first prize, two further prizes and an audience prize. Special recognitions are also possible.

The finalists will present their start-ups to the jury and a group of potential investors on site. The prize is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros. The jury will decide on the distribution of the prize money.

The prize winners are selected by an independent jury of experts. The cash prize may only be used for business activities (contributions in kind/investments etc.) of the company.

The selection criteria for the award are

  • Contribution to the common good (verifiable positive ethical, social and/or sustainable impact of the company)
  • Solid economic basis
  • Potential for further successful company development
