Catholic economist Prof. Dr. Nils Goldschmidt has been director of the Global Ethic Institute since 2025. He is also professor of contextual economics and economic education at the University of Siegen and has been a member of the German Ethics Council since 2024. Goldschmidt studied Catholic theology and economics at the University of Freiburg, where he completed his doctorate in political science in 2001 and his habilitation in economics in 2008. His research focuses on regulatory economics, business ethics, economic education, social policy, and the history and methodology of economic thought. At the Global Ethic Institute, he teaches courses on topics such as “History of Economic Thought,” “Business Ethics as a Global Ethic,” and “Social Market Economy as an Economic and Social Model.”
