Dr. Theo
Bolin Simon

Theo Bolin Simon has been Personal Advisor to the Director and Acting Head of Research at the Global Ethic Institute since February 2026.

At the same time, he holds a professorship in Contextual Economics and Economic Education at the University of Siegen. His research interests lie in political economy—in particular contextual economics, regulatory economics, and public choice—entrepreneurship research, and economic education.
Theo Bolin Simon studied economics at the University of Cologne and completed a master's degree in plural economics at the University of Siegen. There, he earned his doctorate in 2025 with a thesis entitled “Economic Theory of Lobbying: Groups and Innovation.” Previously, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Siegen and at the Action Group for Social Market Economy.

When economic decisions are intended to benefit multiple parties, there is room for maneuver in terms of norms. This is because we choose what we want to trade and with whom. Ethics and the idea of a global ethic are therefore not an addition to economics, but part of its reality." Dr. Theo Bolin Simon
