About the discussion:

This years‘ pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation. This makes it more urgent than ever to address the ethical challenges that accompany it. On the occasion of the publication of the book „Critique of Digital Reason“ by Prof. Dr. Dr. Ulrich Hemel, Director of the Global Ethic Institute and deputy spokesperson of the Ethics Advisory Board of the Cyber Valley Stuttgart-Tübingen, the Global Ethic Institute initiates a round table discussion in cooperation with the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. Peter Dayan, Mila Gorecki, Dr. Alexander von Gernler (Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V.) and Ulrich Hemel (Weltethos Institute) exchanged their views on natural and artificial decision-making and learning processes within the interdisciplinary field of human and machine-based interaction and artificial intelligence. The discussion aimed at uniting perspectives of the state-of-the-art research and the ethical and social impacts of digitalization.
