Weltethos
Pitch Day

Building on Hans Küng’s ideas, we at the Global Ethic (Weltethos) Institute at the University of Tübingen, together with partners from business, science, and society, are offering a prize for start-ups and new businesses that take social and ecological responsibility with economically viable ideas.

The prize will be awarded as part of the Global Ethic Pitch Day and is aimed at young entrepreneurs who have developed a business plan, are already active in the market, and have established a fixed corporate form (e.g., confirmed by an entry in the commercial register). The start-up should have been founded no earlier than 2021 and no later than 2024. All economic sectors are eligible.

The next Global Ethic Pitch Day will take place on December 1st, 2026 at out institute in Tübingen.

The Prize
and the Jury

We invite up to six finalists to present their projects and project ideas. Within this framework, we award a first prize, two additional prizes, and an audience prize. Special recognitions are also possible.

The finalists present their start-ups to the jury and a group of potential investors on site. The prize is worth a total of €10,000. The jury will decide how the prize money is distributed.

The winners will be selected by an independent jury of experts. The prize money may only be used for business activities (contributions in kind/investments, etc.) of the company.

The selection criteria for the prize are:

  • Contribution to the common good (demonstrable positive ethical, social, and/or sustainable impact of the enterprise)
  • Solid economic basis
  • Potential for further successful business development

The winners will be selected from the group of finalists present. Legal recourse is excluded.
