With the great freedoms of modernity comes great responsibility. This is especially true in areas where we can make a significant difference, for better or worse, not only for ourselves but also for our fellow human beings, the environment, and future generations—in companies and organizations.
But what does it mean to take responsibility in a world characterized by cultural diversity, ecological threats, and interdependencies across national borders?
Personal and global responsibility can be learned: The Global Ethic Certificate in Companies and Organizations is a learning program offered by the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences in cooperation with the Global Ethic Institute at the University of Tübingen (WEIT).
The courses introduce students of economics and social sciences to the field of ethical language skills.
Whether it’s self-competence, corporate and organizational ethics, or leadership ethics, practical global responsibility is always at the center of reflection.
With a focus on responsible leadership and ethical communication in companies and organizations, master’s students or doctoral candidates can qualify for the certificate “Global Ethic in Companies and Organizations” by participating in at least three seminars or acquiring 15 ECTS credits. These are divided into three complementary areas of focus:
You will develop theories of ethos and ethics, clarify your own values, and practice ethical language and dialogue skills.
At least 3 ETCS
Courses in this focus area are introductions to business ethics or organizational communication.
At least 3 ECTS
Responsible leadership is a skill that must be learned—in courses on leadership, team management, or intercultural ethics.
We offer various seminars and lectures for students and doctoral candidates every semester.
