In his recently published article, “Building Global Value and Driving Global Change“, Prof. Dr. Dr. Ulrich Hemel, Director of the World Ethos Institute at the University of Tübingen, explores how change emerges at the intersections of individual practices and their social and cultural contexts. The article was published in the “Handbook of Quality of Life and Social Change“ in October 2024 by Springer Verlag. Hemel emphasizes that we must consider both local realities and global concepts to foster positive developments. He highlights the role of the World Ethos Institute and other actors working toward a peaceful and ecologically stable world.
The Handbook of Quality of Life and Social Change aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the connections between quality of life and social change, as pursued not only in development cooperation but also in the private sector and academia. It brings together both theoretical and practical content and addresses socioeconomic, ecological, political, and governance aspects, as well as communication and human behavioral factors that can either foster or hinder dynamic processes of social change.
