Beschreibung

In this course we introduce the thought of Confucian philosopher Tu Weiming and compare his ‚Spiritual Humanism‘ approach to intercultural dialogue with Hans Küng’s Tübingen-born ProjektWeltethos. Three major themes will be addressed: 1) the ancient Confucian distinction between ‚learning for the self‘ and ‚learning for others‘; 2) the challenge of humanistic management and humanistic leadership in a 21st-century ‚attention economy‘; and 3) the difference between ‚dialogue‘ and ‚dialectic‘.
